Have you ever wondered how you could be even more creative?
The short easy answer is spending time with animals!
When I spend time with my 2 Golden Retrievers, Sunny and Dave I feel supported and not alone. With that connected feeling inside me, I can tackle all those obstacles that often come along when creating and realizing a creative project.
Here are the five most important ways in which animals will help with creative expression:
1. Confidence
Animals can’t help but make you feel more confident. Training Sunny and Dave to not run off with me being dragged behind them makes me feel I have achieved something wonderful which is a confidence boost!
You need confidence to try something new!
2. Playfulness
Have you ever sat down and watched your dog or cat play with a favorite toy? If so, you know the playfulness that animals possess.
We all need to feel that playfulness in our hearts that lets us forget about our inner critics. Playfulness often leads us to find a novel approach to a creative project, which we wouldn’t have found with our serious hat on.
3. Mindfulness
You can exercise wonderful mindfulness with your animal by being aware of the sensations you are experiencing. What does it feel like when you touch your animal’s fur (or skin), what can you hear (snoring?), or smell (especially when my dog has rolled in a dead animal)? When you observe these, you can just lovingly look at these sensations and let them be.
Animals can help us become a bit calmer, which will then help us to think about our creative ideas.
4. Connection
Living with your animal, means you connect to their specific heart energy. You will begin to know exactly what your animal is thinking or feeling without any words being spoken.
This process happens organically and without us noticing it, until one day you just know what your animal would like you to do. This heart-based connection helps us not only to connect with our animals, but also to connect with the energy of our surroundings, to our subconscious, and our heart.
Our creativity is fueled by ideas and insights that do not come from our conscious mind, but from our surroundings and subconscious. These subtle energies inspire us to create something new.
5. Love
Love to me is the biggest motivator to do anything new whether it is a creative project or something else. If you love something, you just want to do it. And when you are with your animals, you are probably feeling love. When we feel love, we can act from a place of self-love and kindness, which will help us to take our wish to express that creative idea seriously.
Having animals in our lives is scientifically proven to be beneficial for our health, and everything that supports our well-being also helps us be creative.
Living with an animal will sensitize you to the subtle energies around you, which you will need to receive creative ideas from your subconscious or from your surroundings.
