“If you’re brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello.” – Paulo Coelho.
I started the Breaking Brave podcast in February of 2021 because I needed to keep learning, and to keep doing … COVID had shut absolutely everything down.
I admit I was terrified. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing in the podcast space … and like most people really didn’t like the sound of my own voice.
The one thing I did know was that the world needed to be brave in the face of the global pandemic!
Maybe this podcast could inspire the world to be a little braver by sharing the brave stories of everyday people.
I craved this new challenge physically and emotionally… however, perfectionism quickly reared its ugly head.
Children of narcissistic mothers often become perfectionists.
Growing up in an environment where the mother’s approval and validation are conditional upon meeting unrealistic expectations can contribute to the development of perfectionism – 100% my story!!!
So, in a stranger than strange twist of fate, I had to slowly and bravely let go of my own perfectionism to get comfortable in becoming the host of Breaking Brave!!!
This week on August 1st, we will air episode #89 of Breaking Brave … it might be our last.
I have had to make the tough decision to stop the podcast because at the end of the day, Breaking Brave needs to generate some income for me … and unfortunately … it’s not doing that.
The announcer read ‘brought to you by’ tags have been in service of great causes and great brands … but I have never charged anything for them.
Over the course of the last several months, I have been actively looking for a paid sponsor … but to no avail. The podcast space is a crowded one! I totally get that.
I think its actually prophetic that my last guest on Breaking Brave is Fransi Weinstein.
Fransi is a close friend and business colleague who is fighting Stage 4, hormone positive, HER2-negative breast cancer.
When I asked Fransi to be my final guest, her response was … are you sure?? I am no one!!! Don’t you want to interview someone important?
NO … I responded … because you don’t have to be a celebrity to be BRAVE … that has always been the premise of this podcast!
My conversation with Fransi feels like the perfect culmination of all the episodes we have aired!!!
Fransi truly is the epitome of BRAVERY! Over the years she has selflessly given to others, worked her way to the top in one of the most brutal industries … ADVERTISING … been presented with a lifetime achievement award, and won over 100 domestic and international awards.
Fransi is BRAVELY fighting cancer with everything she’s got … and she is also asking for our help – https://www.gofundme.com/f/I-need-your-help-paying-for-my-cancer-care

Finally, I want to thank you for your support!!
Sharing these BRAVE stories over the last 3 years has uplifted audiences globally, and has personally helped me to grow, learn, and become a braver human … and a little less of a perfectionist!
